Glutton for Punishment?

If I’d received the warning that Paul received from Agabus in verses 5-14, I’d be running the other way like Jonah.

Even his friends begged Paul to change his plans.

I wonder what drew Paul toward his difficult path.  How did he stay the course when everyone around him was telling him to go the other way?
