They have better success in Berea, at least until their enemies from Thessalonica follow them into town and stir up trouble.
We learn, as we read verses 1-9, that Paul typically uses the local synagogue as his focal point of minitry in a new town.
Unfortunately, in Thessalonica, once Paul starts experiencing success in his teaching, many of the local Jews are angry and stir up a mob against his friends.
Jason ends up in prison as a result of the rioting and has to post bond to be set free.
