The Trouble with Ephesus

According to Acts 19, Paul was very well-acquainted with Ephesus.  He spent some time there and had intense experiences with the people of the city.

But Ephesians 1:15-16 and Ephesians 3:1-6 could imply that the people receiving this letter do not know Paul personally, but only by his writing.

Some scholars insist that this means Ephesians wasn’t really intended for the church at Ephesus.

I don’t have this same hesitation, but it’s interesting to note this debate among people who study the Bible for a living.
