Paul’s Friends

In verses 9-12, Paul urges the Corinthians to support Timothy and greet Apollos when he has the chance to meet them.

Apollos, in verse 28, puts his new understanding to use in public debate.

Like a debater on a forensics team, he supports the claim that Jesus is Messiah from the Old Testament scriptures.

On the Road

In verses 26-27, Apollos receives some coaching and then travels to share the Good News.

Sincere and Wrong

Apollos didn’t mean to teach an incomplete message, but in verses 24-25, we learn that he doesn’t have a full understanding of Jesus’ baptism.

I wonder how this misunderstanding influences faith today.
