What’s Math Got To Do With It? by Jo Boaler

As a member of a local Common Core mathematics cadre of professors, administrators, and teachers, I was given a copy of this book for review.

In short, math instruction in the U.S. tends to be dry, rote, and boring. We all know this is true. We’ve lived through it!

Kids who have frequent opportunities to solve complex problems and have mathematical conversations tend to do better in class and in life than students who see math as an endless ladder of rules.

If you wonder what it will take to help the next generation of kids to thrive mathematically, check this book out! It is worth your time.
