Pharaoh’s Request

March 26, 2014 Leave a comment

Pharaoh quickly summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “I have sinned against the Lord your God and against you. Now forgive my sin once more and pray to the Lord your God to take this deadly plague away from me.”

Moses then left Pharaoh and prayed to the Lord (Exodus 10:16-18, NIV).

Joseph’s Big Break

March 5, 2011 1 comment

In verses 17-45, we learn that Joseph is able to interpret Pharaoh’s dream on-the-spot.

As a result, Joseph–only 30 years old–is installed as ruler of all Egypt.

Don’t forget, just minutes before this encounter, Joseph was serving a life sentence in prison.

How would you handle this kind of rags-to-riches experience?

Moses v. Pharaoh

Moses prays on behalf of Pharaoh several times throughout the plagues.

It is interesting that another early model of prayer is intercessory, not directly from the sinner to God.
