Snow Day!

Benaiah son of Jehoiada, a valiant fighter from Kabzeel, performed great exploits. He struck down Moab’s two mightiest warriors. He also went down into a pit on a snowy day and killed a lion (2 Samuel 23:20 or 1 Chronicles 11:22, NIV).
God’s voice thunders in marvelous ways;
he does great things beyond our understanding.
He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth,’
and to the rain shower, ‘Be a mighty downpour.’
So that everyone he has made may know his work,
he stops all people from their labor (Job 37:5-7, NIV).
He sends his command to the earth;
    his word runs swiftly.
He spreads the snow like wool
   and scatters the frost like ashes.
He hurls down his hail like pebbles.
   Who can withstand his icy blast? (Psalm 147:15-17, NIV)

As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
As the rain and the snow
come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it (Isaiah 55:9-11, NIV).
